Quick answer

Western Rye presents a red-rock Old West frontier recovering from Rye Fever, with towns, deep caves, abandoned settlements, NPC trade, weather, factions, and hostile territory. No complete official map or reliable named-location index is public yet.

A red-rock Old West frontier

Western Rye takes visual inspiration from monumental red-rock landscapes and places survival crafting in an Old West setting. Official imagery shows canyons, open desert, settlements, ranches, interiors, water, and changing atmospheric conditions. The world is recovering from the mysterious Rye Fever, which shapes its hostile tone.

This page is a verified setting hub, not a pretend interactive map. No complete official world map or public location database supports exact routes yet.

Towns, caves, and abandoned settlements

The developer description names towns, deep caves, and abandoned settlements as places to explore. Towns support social and trade context, while caves connect naturally to mining and danger. Abandoned places suggest scavenging or narrative discovery, but current sources do not publish reliable names, coordinates, loot cycles, or travel times.

A location visible in a screenshot is not assigned a fan-made name. Named entries will wait for the game interface, developer text, or reproducible in-game evidence.

Trade and frontier life

NPC trading is part of the officially described world. Farming, ranching, hunting, fishing, mining, crafting, and homestead construction give players reasons to move between settled and remote areas. The economy’s vendors, currencies, prices, inventory refresh, reputation, and regional differences remain unknown.

Those values will be documented in a build-specific economy pass after the store unlocks.

Weather, factions, and danger

Weather is an explicit part of the frontier conditions. Hostile context includes infected Husk, outlaws or bandits, cultists, other factions, and wildlife. Current material does not establish exact territories, patrol systems, reputation states, weather schedules, or how deeply conditions affect survival.

Fictional faction descriptions will be written neutrally and kept separate from assumptions about real-world cultures or identities.

Exploration in solo and co-op

Players can explore alone or in online co-op for up to four. Building nearby and sharing resources are described, but map markers, fast travel, shared discovery, quest ownership, and distance limits are not yet documented.

What comes after launch

Once verified, this hub can link to a real map, locations, caves, towns, vendors, and points of interest. Each entry will require an official name or reproducible evidence, useful access directions, relevant hazards, and a checked build date. Until then, the official screenshots here illustrate scope without fabricating geography.
